Offering intimate journeys for 10-12 passengers on small expedition vessels, ATE navigates through Svalbard and other remote destinations to provide a destination-forward experience. Guests enjoy life-changing wildlife encounters, gourmet meals, and the opportunity to give back through activities like beach cleanups. The Coral Resilience Lab at the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology collaborates with Malama Maunalua, Indigenous leaders, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on the Restore With Resilience (RWR) project, a groundbreaking coral reef restoration initiative. Through meticulous testing and community-driven monitoring, RWR identifies the corals most resilient to bleaching and ocean acidification, clones them in the laboratory, and replants them at critical sites. Using best practices in science communication and graphic design, evocative field photography, and infographics, Solarpunk Studio assisted RWR in creating a comprehensive physical and digital guidebook that details both the scientific and community engagement aspects of this innovative process.

The guidebook enabled RWR to enroll an additional partner site on Maui, and is currently in use as an educational and recruitment asset, enabling others in regions with endangered coral to replicate the effort.

For The Nature Conservancy's Innovation Division in New York, we produced a series of internal videos showcasing the impact of innovation methodologies on conservation outcomes. Through deep-dive interviews and engaging animations, we highlighted success stories and created an overview of the innovation process. These videos inspired internal teams and integrated into the organization's onboarding process.

“We gave Solarpunk Studio complex information and general direction, and from there they took the reins to pull together content, interviews and graphics to create a beautiful storyline,” summarized Jen Chin, Director of Innovation for TNC’s New York division. “I highly recommend working with them for any of your marketing or PR needs.”

We partnered with ORBTL.AI, a geospatial startup, to establish their digital presence and tell the story of their earth data services. Starting with a complete rebranding, we created a visually appealing website and launched new social media profiles. By repurposing academic material into accessible how-to guides, we effectively communicated their offerings to their intended audience. Our efforts resulted in increased interest from government and NGOs.

“Solarpunk Studio brought a ton of energy and creativity to our company re-brand! We really love how communicative they were throughout the process, helping us design a full brand kit and marketing plan from scratch,” said Ross Winans, founder of ORBTL.AI. “Not only did we receive deliverables we love, but we also received a crash course in science communication, marketing, and building brands."

The Yuba Trails Stewardship (YTS) emerged from a California trail-building group's vision to complete a fully connected pedestrian infrastructure for hikers and bikers across the Northern Sierras. By driving local investment, revitalizing stalled projects, and promoting climate-friendly, non-motorized transportation, the initiative's goal is to build a transparent coalition that unites businesses, organizations, and land managers to create and maintain beautiful, accessible trails. With experience in accessible design, alternative construction, and LEED certification, the group faces unique communications challenges as it plans to transition from a community-bootstrapped effort to one supported by federal funding.

Utilizing the IAP2 spectrum of public participation and inspired by similar successful grassroots campaigns, Solarpunk Studio supported YTS in developing a comprehensive communications plan and a video-based crowdfunding campaign to launch the initiative.
